On the last Saturday in Feb, February 23rd, wine lovers everywhere will pull the corks on the wines — old, expensive, or just sentimental—that they’ve been saving for “someday.” The last Saturday in February marks Open That Bottle Night, an unofficial but glorious vinous holiday invented by former The Wall Street Journal wine columnists Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecher in 1999.

Our first dinner of out Tenth Anniversary Year - 2019. It’s a bring-your-own event in conjunction with #OTBN 2019 – an event where you bring the wine. Did someone give you a birthday bottle? Have you been hanging on to something from your wedding or do you just want to try that bottle with like-minded people? Join us at SAXE Restaurant for a 3 course dinner in a 1 HAT Restaurant. We will also be drinking a lot of wine from Luke’s personal cellar! Yes, you read that correctly… .. Luke and our sommeliers will talk to you about your bottle, and uncork some of Luke’s own. Rhone Ranges Wine Dinner feat. Keith Tulloch Wines

Keith Tulloch wines is founded on strong Hunter history producing distinctive Rhone style wines from some of the Hunters oldest vineyard sites.  Keith himself is a fourth generation winemaker from the famous Tulloch dynasty. It was after returning from the Rhône in 1996 that Keith and Amanda decided that together they would make wine in a way that truly reflected the traditional methods of great French wines, as well as capturing the essence and character of the local Hunter Valley.

With Keith  joining us, he and Luke will discuss the Hunter Region, Shiraz as a variety and it’s homeland the Rhone Valley. if you love your red wine or simply can’t get enough of Shiraz, this promise’s to be a dinner not to be missed. Join us Thursday the 12th of April at Kirks Wine Bar for and enjoy a three course dinner of sensory pleasure, education and fun. (6.30pm for 7pm start)  Bookings essential. Seats are limited.
